heart of the matter

It's that time of the year where most of us are resolute about fulfilling this or that resolution for the new year.I'm not one for new year's resolutions at all, but rather for making decisions when I feel they are necessary and will add to my life.

The question above, is jarring to say the least. I mean we speak so often about following our heart and doing what feels right for us in our hearts, but how often do we actually go for it and do it? Moreover how often do we take a moment, to just be still and quiet and listen to what our heart is saying to us? How many times do we listen and decide to HEAR what our HEARt is telling us and fight the fear of following it and do it anyway?

This is definitely a particularly poignant point to me at the moment, where I'm thinking of erring on the side of caution and HEADing in a "safe" direction instead of following my heart, thoughts of which make me smile...Weird but true, but I am all to certain I am not alone in this assertion. What feels right in our hearts, we can can fight with fear in our minds.

There is possibly SO much I would get done and that would fill my soul with inordinate peace and bliss, if I listened to my heart. What could possibly happen if I followed my heart? Um...I don't know unless I venture down that avenue.

So this year I wish you all you wish for yourselves and more. Moreover, I wish you stillness and acute hearing, so you can listen to the language of your heart and go bravely in the direction that it heeds you to follow. I'm going to try it, one step at a time though. I have a sneaking suspicion though that if I venture down the path of my heart, my heart would most probably hold my hand.
